Today we had cross country in Chadderton Hall Park it was a lovely sunny day, unfortunately the number of runners we had was rather depleted due to children having other commitments. However everybody ran really well especially the new Year 1 runners.
Robin Class have been busy learning all about the festival of light, Diwali.
They listened to stories and learnt all about different traditions that they have for this very important holiday in India.
It is a Hindu ‘festival of lights’ which celebrates the New Year.
The word Diwali means ‘row of lighted lamps’.
Robin Class created some Diva lamps using clay.
We will wait...
During our October half term, the children were busy exploring Autumn with their families.
They observed seasonal changes and talked about what they were recognising now Autumn is here!
The children collected signs of Autumn in their bags and shared what they had found with their friends.
Nursery made vegetable soup today.
We peeled, cut and stirred the soup. Miss Smith boiled it in the pan, then we took turns to blend it.
We buttered some bread to dip into the soup then we sat down to eat.
We all agreed it was very yummy!!
Sparrow Class have been tasting porridge just like Goldilocks.
They talked about the ingredients that they used and which topping they would like put on top.
They chose from toppings: honey, jam, sugar and raisins.
Every child tried some porridge today and it was JUST RIGHT!
We visited church to find out more information about the Sacrament of Baptism. Father Gasper took us through each step of a baptism ceremony. We learnt about the different signs and symbols associated with baptism and what these mean.
