Music Showcase Extravaganza!

Our investment in music continues to grow. We now have year four and five playing the Violin, a large Recorder group, a large Choir, a Brass group along with Father Heakin’s Guitar experts. We realised that last year, our Orchestra was in need of more Bass and thus introduced the Viola to a group of our children.

This week we held a music showcase event allowing the children to present their musical skills and talents to a huge audience of parents and members of the community.

On the day the Choir sang a range of Christmas songs (also a feature of our recent Brass Band concert), a Violin performance from Year 4 (including a piece linking to their Romans topic), Violins from Year 5 (including a piece linking to their Vikings topic, Violas, Recorders, the Orchestra as a whole and the Brass group. It was simply brilliant to hear the outstanding quality of the music produced. Well done to everyone involved, this was a great piece of work completed jointly between the Oldham Music service and the talented, creative staff in school.
