Forest School- Hedgehogs

Today in forest school we have been learning all about hedgehogs. We found out that they like to eat worms. slugs and woodlice so we went on a hunt in the forest to see if we could find any hiding underneath the wooden logs. Some of us were brave enough to have the worms on our hands and touch the slugs. When hedgehogs feel frightened they roll themselves into a tight ball and stick their spikes out, we tried rolling into a tight ball it wasn’t easy. Also hedgehogs cant see very well and use their ears to hear things and their noses to smell things, we played a game were we blindfolded and had to guess the different foods, it was very difficult. Finally we made our own hedgehogs from clay and read a  story called ‘ The Helpful Hedgehog’
