The last few weeks in the nursery we have been planting sunflowers. We have talked all about what plants need to grow soil, water, sun and insects like bees and ladybirds who help plants. Then we painted our own sunflower pictures.
Today we had our final cooking club lesson for Year 3 children. We made chocolate goo which tasted delicious and was made from lots of chocolate, rice krispies, mars bars and golden syrup. Then we finished off with a pudding made from yoghurt, nectarines, kiwi fruit and strawberries.
Today we took part in The Oldham Primary School Baton Relay which started in Saddleworth yesterday and finished in Lees this evening. Football fever swept the Nursery this week.
The children have been practicing their skills, training up for the World Cup in 2038!
Led by their coach, they were instructed to pull their socks up and warm up by doing press ups.
Tonight in cooking club we got in the holiday mood by making Greek salad. We enjoyed tasting feta cheese for the first time and we preferred black grapes in our salad instead of olives. Just the thing for a hot sunny evening.
Tonight in cooking club we made the healthy snack twice baked jacket potatoes. We used a grater to grate our cheese safely and we practised our chopping techniques to cut tomatoes and peppers.They looked and tasted so delicious.
Today the running club took part in The Race for Life. Well done to all the runners who took part today in very hot conditions you did absolutely brilliantly. Everybody who took part received a medal and a well earned ice cream at the end. Let's hope we have raised lots of money for this wonderful charity. Thank you...
