Today we visited Tesco as part of the Farm to Fork Trail. A free Tesco initiative which tries to help children understand were their food comes from. We made pizzas which looked delicious. Then we had a tour of the instore bakery and the chilled foods and freezer areas they were very cold.
Tonight in cooking club we made apple, banana and cornflake crumble. We used the apples from our own orchard. We used potato peelers to remove the skins from the apples , it was quite tricky. Then we practised our knife skills to chop the apples up.

We had a fantastic time exploring the store and looking at the range of healthy and unhealthy products.

Today in cooking club with the Year one children we made cheese, tomato and mushroom puff pastry tarts. They smelt and tasted delicious. This term we are offering a two week taster cooking course for year one children, This week we made rock cakes. The children really enjoyed making them.
