At Corpus Christi, we are always proud when the children independently choose to continue their learning outside of school. This week, Zachary in year 5 brought in a lego model of The Highway Man which he has built alongside his literacy homework. We love to see your creations, please bring them in and show your teacher.
Year 5 have been diving into dictionaries! As part of our current work based on 'The Highway Man', the children have identified and highlighted any language they have not understood. They have then used dictionaries to find definitions and create their own definition flap books.

In year 5 and 6 RE, we are discussing love and whether or not it has to be earnt. Hawk class discussed this in groups and we spent time considering what 'things' we need. We then thought about who provides the things we need and why they work for them/give them to us.
With a busy year ahead for year 2 and year 6, the children have partnered up to ensure they can look out for each other. Lots of lovely new friendships have already appeared and it'll be great to see these develop over the year as they get to know each other.
Today, Hawk and Starling class met up for the first time this year as prayer partners. Children were paired up with a buddy who they will build a friendship with over the course of the school year. We spent half an hour getting to know each other and ask each other questions about our home life, hobbies and things...
It has been a fantastic first day back for all. In Hawk class, we got stuck straight into our new topic, Ancient Greece. We worked in groups to identify the seven continents of the world and are beginning to understand where Ancient Greece takes place on a timeline of historical events.
