Final cooking club this week for this group. We had a busy evening making apple crumble and chocolate goo. To make our crumble we used apples which had been grown in our own fruit orchard. We used the rubbing in method to make the topping and then took them home to cook and eat with custard or ice cream....
Today we visited Tesco as part of the Farm to Fork Trail. A free Tesco initiative which tries to help children understand were their food comes from. We made pizzas which looked delicious. Then we had a tour of the instore bakery and the chilled foods and freezer areas they were very cold.
Tonight in cooking club we made apple, banana and cornflake crumble. We used the apples from our own orchard. We used potato peelers to remove the skins from the apples , it was quite tricky. Then we practised our knife skills to chop the apples up.
Today in cooking club we made muffins. We used fresh lemons, raspberries and lemon yoghurt they tasted delicious.
