In year 5 and 6 RE, we are discussing love and whether or not it has to be earnt. Hawk class discussed this in groups and we spent time considering what 'things' we need. We then thought about who provides the things we need and why they work for them/give them to us.
Kingfisher class have had a lovely reflective afternoon, thinking about why some people do extraordinary things. In RE we keep a big book in every classroom where we can display group work, photographs and collective ideas/responses. Here is a photograph of us decorating our Come and See book with responses.
With a busy year ahead for year 2 and year 6, the children have partnered up to ensure they can look out for each other. Lots of lovely new friendships have already appeared and it'll be great to see these develop over the year as they get to know each other.
Today, Hawk and Starling class met up for the first time this year as prayer partners. Children were paired up with a buddy who they will build a friendship with over the course of the school year. After Easter, EYFS have been learning all about the Good News of Jesus sending the Holy Spirit to his Disciples. As a response to our learning, we decided to spread the Holy Spirit to others around the world. We released doves using balloons, and said a special prayer to Jesus, to thank Him for sending us the Holy Spirit as He promised.
We have been learning all about the events that happened during Holy Week in Reception.
We discussed what happened during Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We used role-play to re-enact events.
