Duckling class have loved their pirate topic!
We have made flags, maps and binoculars. Sang songs, took part in treasure hunts and pin the patch on the pirate. And just look at those costumes!! Wow! Thank you to all the children and parents for their support.
We even performed an assembly, with lots of songs and retold the story of Captain Yellowbelly!
We had a great time in the nursery trying to pull apart pumpkins, squashes and onions. We used tweezers, knives, forks and spoons. We talked about how they felt and what they smelt like, we were able to describe them and separate all the seeds!
We are beginning our phonics lessons with listening to sounds in the environment.
We read the story 'We're Going On A Bear Hunt' many times then recreated it in our forest school. We enjoyed finding similar sounds to the ones in the story.
Luckily, we didn't find a bear!
